Camp water

One of the goals we had set out to accomplish had been to upgrade our water system at the camp. For anybody that has been there, you know how hard the water was. After only a couple days of use, everything the water touched turned orange. This spring, thanks in part to the EMCC Canada West District, we were able to put in a new water treatment system. Including a Reverse Osmosis unit for drinking water in the kitchen. No more running to town for bottles of water!

A Regina supplier, Lyle's Water Treatment, supplied and installed everything we needed to complete this project. Thanks to them for finding an affordable system that would suit our purposes.

The next phase of this project is to get the treated water to the outdoor shower house. Stay tuned for that!

Cabin E & F Foundation repairs

The South foundation wall of Cabin E & F has been in the plans for removal and replacement for a couple years. This spring, we were finally able to get that task completed. Removing the broken/crooked wall so we can replace it with a more solid foundation. The new foundation we put in allows us to adjust it much easier in the future if things shift or change. Big shout out to Cam and Ken for all their work and motivation to get this done. We needed to get this task completed so we can begin work on the inside improvements. As with everything else in life, expect good results when you start with a solid foundation.

Harvest of Praise 2010

Last night we had our annual Harvest of Praise banquet. We had a nice attendance of people, despite the roads and weather conditions. We were blessed to have Sheila Charanduk and her mom Dorothy prepare a fabulous meal for us. We had a fantastic worship team from Rosewood Alliance church lead us in worship, and we are very grateful they were able to attend and lead us.

Phil Delsault, the president of EMCC provided us with a very practical message of hope and guidance.

The whole evening was very enjoyable and successful as people enjoyed their time there, and we were able to raise money needed to make necessary upgrades to our facilities.

Thank you to everybody that was able to come out, and for the generous support of those who desire to see the camp exist and grow.

Harvest of Praise 2010

Each year we have our general meeting and banquet out at the camp. This gives people the opportunity to explore further what is happening at the camp, and what our plans and goals are. This year our annual Harvest of Praise banquet is on Fri. Oct 29. I hope you will be able to attend, and take an active role in the future of Echo Lake Bible Camp. The price is $10/person, available at the door.

Dear Friends:

We have some great news about Echo Lake Bible Camp. ELBC is now an incorporated entity (our legal name is now Echo Lake Bible Camp Corporation). Last fall we voted in a new set of bylaws to govern our affairs. We now have a way of embracing all the friends of ELBC in a legal manner, while anchoring our relationship with Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada (EMCC).

Camp Apparel

We now have available hoodies (bunny hugs) (hooded sweatshirts). No matter what you call them, they're classy, they show your affiliation with the camp. Buy them now before its too late.

Camp Cleanup Day

Hey everybody,
We want to start the year off right. We're looking for help to get the camp ready for the summer.
On May 15th, if you have time and want to put your energy to good use, we could use some help getting things in order and cleaned up.
If you provide the labour, and the laughs, we'll provide the food and drinks.
If you're interested, you can let Greg and Sheila know so they can be prepared for the number of people to expect.

Harvest of Praise

This is just a quick note to inform you of the upcoming Harvest of Praise banquet. This is a great chance to hear Cheryle Zorn sing, and get introduced to our new camp managers, Greg and Sheila Charanduk. This is also our annual meeting, so hoping for a good turnout.

New camp managers

I have the pleasure to tell everybody that we have successfully found new camp managers! We are very optimistic about what they can bring to the camp.

Here is some brief information about our new managers, Greg and Sheila Charanduk.
Greg and Sheila were both raised in Regina, Sask. They met at Calvary Evangelical Church in 1989. They were married Sept 1990. They lived in Regina for four years and then moved to Edmonton Alberta to work with a direct sales company. They worked together in the direct sales industry for 17 years. From Edmonton they moved a short while to Richmond BC and then it was back to Alberta...Calgary, where they lived for 10 years. In 2002 Greg and Sheila were blessed with their first child...a boy...Isaiah. In March of 2007 they were blessed again with a baby girl...Faith. That same year Greg and Sheila had purchased the direct sales company they had work with and moved it and their family to Langley BC. They lived in Langley for almost two years. They then sold the business and God opened the door to take on the position as Camp Manager at Echo Lake Bible Camp. They are looking forward with great excitement and anticipation for all the wonderful things God has in store for the Bible camp in the coming years!

2009 Camping season

What a great camping season. All of the camps were well attended, and well received. I believe everybody had a great time. Whether it was playing activities, or helping with tasks that need to be done for the camp, or just taking time to relax and spend time with God, everybody was able to get what they desired.

Just a quick update to let people know they can now register for camp online. You still need to send in the application with a cheque, but it hopefully makes it a bit easier. Actually, I'm wondering if people would be interested in completing the whole registration process online, payment and all.

Youth Fall Retreat 2008

Pastor Joshua Smith will be leading the youth at their annual fall retreat at the camp. It all kicks off on Fri Oct 3, and finishes up at12pm on Sun Oct 5th.
Last year Joshua taught about trees and the only way to follow up such a great weekend of teaching is to teach you all he can about stones. Josh loves rich symbolism and God used stones often as rich symbols, lets look deeper shall we?
